Wood Products & Technology appoints new business manager – aiming to further develop the fair ahead of 2026
Ahead of the next edition of Wood Products & Technology, Monika Ölund steps in as the new business manager. With experience from several major industry fairs, she now aims – together with exhibitors, partners, and visitors – to further develop the Nordic region’s largest meeting place for industrial wood processing and wood construction.
“It feels both inspiring and meaningful to take on this assignment. Wood Products & Technology has a strong position and a long history, and there is great engagement in the industry. At the same time, we are in a period of changing conditions – and it’s important that we keep up,” says Monika Ölund.
Monika is also the business manager for Scanpack and sees several similarities between the two fairs.
“Both Wood Products & Technology and Scanpack showcase the entire value chain within their respective areas, which offers clear added value for visitors. That holistic thinking is something I bring into the ongoing work.”
New structure to meet new needs
To create an even more efficient and content-rich experience, the 2026 fair will be held over three days instead of four – a change that has emerged through close dialogue with industry stakeholders.
“We see that behaviors are changing, both among visitors and exhibitors. That’s why we are making the fair more cohesive, to increase business value and bring more energy to every encounter,” says Monika.
The content is also being further developed. The fair will consist of three distinct parts: the exhibition, a focused knowledge program, and targeted networking activities. Two new stages – Trä Talks and Trätorget – are in development, featuring everything from quick conversation formats to in-depth seminars and workshops. New exhibition segments, such as hand tools, are also being introduced.
“We want to broaden the meeting place in a way that feels relevant. It’s not about changing everything, but building on what works, while adding new perspectives and ways to connect.”
A platform for the future
The goal is for Wood Products & Technology to remain the natural arena for knowledge, innovation, and business in the wood industry – meeting both today’s needs and tomorrow’s opportunities.
“We’re looking at everything from study visits to roundtable discussions with decision-makers. It’s important to us not only to reflect the current state of the industry but also to help shape its future. What do we need to know in five or ten years? These are questions we want to explore together with the industry,” concludes Monika Ölund.
